Hi there: my name is James Miller and I sell Japanese Samurai Armor, and Yoroi, as well as Samurai Armour to my EU friends, and Samurai Swords.
I have been a collector and a dealer since 1970. In that year, after working at several small part time jobs, I used the money that I myself had earned to travel around the world. I spent 6 months in Japan. Reading about Japanese History and Samurai, I discovered that you could actually buy items from the Edo period quite affordably --- so I did. The first things I bought, for my own collection, were Kunisada woodblock prints - for $35 each. The first thing I bought as a dealer was a suit of samurai armor, for $1,000. After graduating from UCLA, I became a part time professional dealer in 1972 and then a full time dealer soon thereafter.
What you see on this page, and on my many many other web sites, are the results of 38 years experience with Japanese Art. Not only do I red and speak Japanese, but in my early days I spent 5 hours a day or more reading all the important sword and armor books (Taikan), as well as Hawley's books and monographs and Fujishiro's father's book (Kotohen and Shintohen, the bibles of Japanese Samurai Sword collecting). I read them so much the covers fell off my first copies. In this fashion I became quite expert in the filed of Samurai Swords, and during my 20's, or from 1973 to 1979 I supplied all the sword dealers in Tokyo and Kansai with great Samurai Swords on my monthly visits to them. This means I really had to know what I was doing, as I refer to all of the best and most important dealers (many of whom have passed on now - goodbye and I will miss you Zensaburo-san).
From 1973 to today 2009 I bought and sold 10,585 Samurai Swords, an amount of swords which would fill a large sized living room to the ceiling about 3 times over!
I am retired now. I no longer have the energy to add to the 3,000,000 airline miles already accumulated by me in looking for good Samurai Armor, Tsuba, Kodogu, Koshirae, Daimyo Tachi, Inro, Buddhist Paintings, Buddhist Statues, from the Heian period to the Meiji Taisho early Showa period. But you can still visit me on the Internet , and see what collecting was like during those days.
Many of the best of the best I have held back for myself but am selling now. I have dozens of websites since I collect and am expert in dozens of ares of Japanese Art - so I have made specialty sites for many of the things that I can offer in depth and with expertise and using my collection and my experience: I have websites not only for Samurai Armor and Ninja Armor, and Samurai Helmets and Mempo / Menpo, but also Matchlock Guns and Wall Cannons, Samurai Sword mounts such as Tsuba, Kozuka, Fuchi Kashira, Menuki, Kogai, Mitokoromono, Futatokoromono, (largest collection in the world perhaps), and in addition Gold Lacquer Inro and Suzuribako, Ukiyo-e Woodblock Prints (500), Shin-hanga, Shunga, Buddhist Paintings (very early ones are my speciality), Buddhist Shrines and Statues, Japanese Sagemono and Netsuke and Ivory, Kanamono, and I sell in my gallery a few Imari, Kakiemon, Tansu, Japanese Screens, and more.
Thank you for reading my introduction. James R Miller Summer, 2009

Above are part of a collection of Japanese Samurai Helmets (Kabuto) available now ...
Generally speaking, this is the largest collection of Japanese Samurai Kabuto in the world from which you can select and buy--- they are very hard to come by - and the prices are about $5,000 each to $14,000. They will sell fast. Tell me which you want and I will get back to you with a "best price".
What you are seeing now, and why you are seeing so much - this is the product of 38+ years of intense Japanese Armor collecting.
It is just the same as if you were an advanced Japanese collector, and we have invited you to come inside my home and view a massive collection of Japanese Art - to date only advanced and very knowledgable Japanese collectors have seen all this. Now you can too, as I wish to retire and am opening my collection to the world via the Internet.
